training program on Quality Mango Production and its Marketing was organized by ICAR-CISH, Lucknow

A three day training program on Quality Mango Production and its Marketing was organized by ICAR-CISH, Lucknow during May 15-17, 2024 in collaboration with Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Bhagalpur, Bihar. Mango growers of Bhagalpur undertook the training program to enhance the production and quality of JARDALU mango, a GI-tagged mango, for higher market price. In the training program production, plant protection and post harvest management were highlighted through lectures, demonstrations and practical classes. Dr. T. Damodaran, Director, highlighted the production of good agricultural practices for production of export quality fruits. He also told the participants about the initiatives of CISH in promotion of mango exports. Dr. Kundan Kishore, Head, Crop Production highlighted the significance of production technology especially canopy management under high density planting system of mango. Nutrient use efficiency, bagging, and rejuvenation were highlighted by the scientists of the production division, whereas plant protection and post harvest interventions were emphasized by the Scientists of protection and post harvest division. Field Demonstration of mango production technology, nursery unit, post-harvest management, packaging and processing was arranged. Scientists of CISH advised the mango growers to adopt GAP in mango mango for quality fruit production. During the interaction, participants expressed satisfaction over the program and realized the importance of scientific interventions for obtaining higher market price. The program was coordinated by Dr. Kundan Kishore with the help of Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh and Sh. Dhruv Kumar.
