On 3-4 August, 2016, training program on “drip irrigation, plastic mulching and importance of protected cultivation in horticulture” was organized at Vikas Bhawan, Lakimpur Kheri by PFDC, ICAR-CISH, Lucknow. Seventy farmers were participated in the training program and dignitaries from district horticulture department, Shri. Amit Bansal, IAS, Chief Development Officer with other officials presided over the training programme. Dr. V.K. Singh, PI, PFDC, ICAR-CISH, Lucknow enumerated the technologies developed by PFDC, ICAR-CISH, especially on drip irrigation & plastic mulching techniques. The technical session on drip irrigation, mulching and protected cultivation was delivered by the PFDC staff. The farmers were also made aware about new varieties of mango and guava released. Visit was also conducted at different farmer’s fields who have installed micro- irrigation system under polyhouse. The training was useful to the farmers and it was appreciated by officers.
