ICAR CISH-RRS and KVK, Malda organised a drive for cleanliness on December 20, 2021. All the staff participated and cleaned the Institute’s premises, Farm and residential kitchen gardens. Dr.Dipak Nayak (Scientist &Officer-in-charge) addressed the staff about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. He emphasized the importance of maintaining personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, safe drinking water, quality organic food and effective utilization of waste resources.
A Kisan gosthi cum demonstration was also organized at village Hannikheda, Raipur at Mall block, Lucknow on 21 December 2021. Villagers were sensitized to adopt clean and green technologies. About 70 farmers including gram Pradhan participated in the programme.
A workshop was also organized on December 22, 2021 and in this workshop, two lectures were arranged focusing on waste management and biodegradation of pesticides. Director of Institute, Dr. Neelima Garg shared her experiences and gave presentation on waste management of fruits and vegetables. She enlightened the audience about potential of entrepreneurship through waste utilization. Another speech was delivered by Dr Govind Kumar, Scientist of the Institute on “Strategies to enhance pesticide degradation through microorganisms”. All the scientists and technical officers of Institute participated in programme.
