Processing and Preservation of Fruit crops under SCSP Plan

Under the SC Sub Plan, ICAR-CISH conducted hands-on training on "Processing and preservation of fruit crops" to SC Women Farmers. The two-day training programme was held on July 25th and 26th, 2023, and addressed various areas of fruit processing, value addition, and preservation techniques. Value-added products such as raw mango pickle, chutney powder, RTS, squash and millets-based bar are made during the training programme. Dr. T. Damodaran, Director of ICAR-CISH, inaugurated the programme and, in his valedictory address, emphasised the importance of value addition for improving nutritional security and adding value. He also emphasized the necessity of group-based techniques/clustering to increasing farmer income. Thirty five SC women farmers from Kakori and Malihabad block of Lucknow district attended the training program. Dr. Abha Singh Dr. A.K. Gupta, Dr. Vishambhar Dayal and Dr. Ravi S.C. coordinated the programme.
