On 22.02.2017, Evaluation of the demonstration trial at farmer’s field was conducted at vill. Bhawanipur, Jalalabad, Kannauj, U.P. by PFDC, ICAR-CISH, Lucknow. The potato crop was raised under different coloured polyethylene mulching i.e. silver, black and unmulched condition under drip irrigation. The higher yield was obtained under silver mulching (300 quintal/ha) followed by black mulching (275 q/ha) as compared to unmulched control (220 q/ha). Under silver mulching the yield was uniform in size with very less undersize and oversize tubers and extent of greening was reduced significantly. The demonstration trial was successfully conducted and the farmer Sh. Arun Kumar Tripathi was motivated to use mulching in potato.
