Under the guidance and supervision of Director (I/c) Dr. Neelima Garg, ICAR-CISH participated in ‘Media Mango Exhibitions’ organized by National Media Club at Moti Jheel, Kanpur on July 14, 2022 and at Western Court Annexe, Janpath Road, New Delhi on July 27, 2022. Kanpur ‘Media Mango Exhibition’ was inaugurated by honorable Former Governor of Uttarakhand and Cabinet Minister, Baby Rani Maurya.honorable Minister of State, Shri Sanjay Gangwar; honorable Minister of State, Smt. Pratibha Shukla and honorable Mayor, Smt. Pramila Pandey were also present on the occasion along with various other dignitaries. During the exhibition, all the honorable Ministers and various other dignitaries visited ICAR-CISH stall where about 100 mango varieties and hybrids and 10 mango based products were displayed. New Delhi ‘Media Mango Exhibition’ was inaugurated by Parshottam Rupala, honorable Union Cabinet Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Govt. of India. Other Cabinet Ministers and Ministers of State viz., Shri Narayan Tatu Rane, honorable Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises; Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, honorable Minister, Ministry of Jal Shakti; Shri Ajay Bhatt, honorable Minister of State in the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Tourism; Shri Rameswar Teli, honorable Minister of State in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Ministry of Labour and Employment; Dr. Subhas Sarkar, honorable Minister of State in the Ministry of Education also visited the mango exhibition. Besides, several Member of Parliament and other dignitaries visited the mango exhibition. ICAR-CISH displayed ;200 mango varieties and hybrids and 15 mango based products during the exhibition. Dr. Ashish Yadav, Principal Scientist (Horticulture) briefed honorable Ministers and other dignitaries about the mango varieties, hybrids and mango based value added products displayed during the ‘Media Mango Exhibitions’ at Kanpur and New Delhi especially about Ambika and Arunika mango varieties developed by ICAR-CISH. The showcasing of mango includes several commercial varieties, released mango hybrids of the country, farmers’ varieties, exotic varieties and hybrids underevaluation which will be future mango varieties.
