Kisan Kalyan Karyashala under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan

ICAR-Central Institute Subtropical Horticulture (CISH) participated in ‘Kisan Kalyan Karyashala’ for farmer outreach at Malihabad and Kakori blocks on May 02, 2018. Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Dinesh Sharma was the chief guest at the function presided over by local MP Sh. Kaushal Kishore in Malihabad. Sharma said that officials should stay in the office till the problems of the people present in the meeting were solved. He explained how various activities mobilized at village level were benefiting people who were deprived earlier. He also explained how direct benefit transfer policy of the government had benefited the poor. Sh. Kaushal Kishore laid emphasis on the steps being taken for the uplift of the poor and how various insurance provisions and financial support have changed the view of people. Five progressive farmers were awarded by the deputy CM and their success stories were shared for changing their views about traditional agriculture. The farmer-scientist interaction was one of the important component of this programme. Many booklets and farmer-friendly literature were distributed for their benefit. The programme was attended by government officials, farmers and functionaries helping rural populace in improving their living standards. The programme was also attended by scientists from ICAR-CISH and ICAR-IISR. The officials explained how different development programmes were useful for farmers and in which the farmers of Malihabad block can get financial and technical support from the government. Block level officers projected achievements made under different Central government-supported schemes and the strategy for completing the targets in stipulated time.
