The ICAR-Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, Rehmankhera, Lucknow celebrated the International Soil Day on December 5, 2016. On the occasion, soil health cards were distributed amongst the farmers of the Mohammadnagar Talukedari village under Malihabad Tehsil, Lucknow. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ghanshyam Pandey, Incharge Head and Principal Scientist, Crop Production Division delivered a lecture on the importance of soil health in view of production and productivity of fruit crops. Dr. Ram Awadh Ram, Principal Scientist addressed the farmers and appraised them about the significance of organic farming. Dr. Tarun Adak and Dr. Atul Singha, scientists of the Institute, displayed the method of pH testing and soil sampling to the farmers. A scientist-farmers meet was also conducted by Dr. Barsati Lal, Senior Scientist and Shri Subhash Chandra, Scientist at the Mohammadnagar Talukedari Village.
