A group of 30 farmers and officials from six blocks of Tikamgarh district, Madhya Pradesh visited the ICAR–CISH, Lucknow on July 5, 2023 under ATMA Programme. Scientist-Farmers interaction meeting was organized. Advanced technologies of subtropical fruit production, protection and post harvest value addition were disseminated to farmers. Varieties of mango like Arunica, Ambika, Amrapali, Mallika and Shewta, Dhawal, Lalima, Lalit of guava were encouraged to farmers for cultivation and earning. Aonla, Bael and Jamun varieties were also suggested to grow in the field condition. Importance of rain water harvesting for life saving irrigation at fruit setting to development period was discussed. Role of soil nutrition was discussed in detail. During the interaction, establishment of newly orchards and their management was communicated. The role of quality planting material was informed. Hindi literature on scientific management of orchards during summer seasons, disease and insect managements were distributed. After meeting, farmers were also visited the processing laboratory and detailed discussions on value added products were explained by Dr. Abha Singh, Principal Scientist. Bearing mango orchards of Arunika, Ambika and Amrapali was visited and importance of fruit bagging was explained. Dr. Naresh Babu (Principal Scientist), Dr. Tarun Adak (Senior Scientist) and Mr. Arvind Kumar (ACTO) organized the visit.
