A group of 15 farmers from two blocks of Pandaria and Kawardha from Kabirdham districts of Chhattisgarh came to ICAR-CISH, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on 26th April 2023. Farmers visited guava fields and mango orchards. To enhance the income, farmers were sensitized to grow improved CISH guava varieties like Shweta, Lalit, Dhawal in their fields. Hindi literature on scientific guava production and protection was distributed to the farmers for adoption and knowledge enhancement. Crop diversification was given importance during the interaction for risk reduction and climate resiliency. Scientific cultivation of mango was discussed. Varieties like Ambika, Arunika, Amrapali, Mallika etc. were suggested to enhance the span of fruit availability and fetch the higher market price. The importance of nutrient and water management was also stressed. Good agricultural practices including spraying of micronutrients at fruit set and fruit development stages in subtropical fruits were suggested to get quality fruits. Scientists were also suggested to use quality planting materials from the nursery of the Institute. छत्तीसगढ़ के कबीरधाम जिले के पंडरिया और कवर्धा के दो विकास खंडों के 15 किसानों के एक समूह ने दिनाँक 26 अप्रैल, 2023 को भारतीय कृषि अनुसंधान परिषद के केंद्रीय उपोष्ण बागवानी संस्थान लखनऊ, उत्तर प्रदेश का भ्रमण किया। किसानों ने संस्थान के आम और अमरूद के बागों का दौरा किया। किसानों की आय बढ़ाने के लिए संस्थान द्वारा विकसित अमरूद की उन्नत किस्मों जैसे श्वेता, ललित, धवल को उगाने के लिए किसानों को प्रेरित किया गया। कृषकों को वैज्ञानिक तकनीक द्वारा अमरूद उत्पादन एवं संरक्षण पर नवीनतम तकनीकों को अपनाने एवं ज्ञानवर्धन हेतु हिन्दी साहित्य वितरित किया गया। जलवायु परिवर्तन और उससे नुकसान कम करने हेतु बातचीत के दौरान फसल विविधीकरण पर जोर दिया गया और आम की वैज्ञानिक खेती पर चर्चा की गई। बाजार में उच्च मूल्य पाने के लिए एवं फलोपलाब्धाता लम्बे समय तक बढाने के लिए अंबिका, अरुणिका, आम्रपाली, मल्लिका आदि किस्मों की खेती का का सुझाव दिया गया और पोषक तत्व और जल प्रबंधन के महत्व का भी प्रचार-प्रसार किया गया। गुणवत्ता वाले फल प्राप्त करने के लिए उपोष्ण फलों के बनने और फलों के विकास के चरणों में सूक्ष्म पोषक तत्वों के छिड़काव सहित अच्छी कृषि पद्धतियों एवं संस्थान की नर्सरी से गुणवत्तापूर्ण रोपण सामग्री का उपयोग करने का भी सुझाव दिया गया । कार्यक्रम का समन्वयन डॉ. नरेश बाबू (प्रधान वैज्ञानिक), डॉ. तरुण अदक (वरिष्ठ वैज्ञानिक) एवं श्री अरविंद कुमार (सहायक मुख्य तकनीकी अधिकारी) ने किया। डॉ. बरसाती लाल, प्रधान वैज्ञानिक, आईसीएआर-आईआईएसआर ने बाग की यात्रा के लिए संस्थान के वैज्ञानिकों एवं अन्य कर्मचारियों को धन्यवाद दिया।
