ICAR-Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, Rehmankhera, Lucknow celebrated Guava Day to disseminate recently developed guava technologies to the farmers. Dr. Devendra Pandey, Director, ICAR-CISH, Lucknow briefed about recent developments made in canopy architecture management, bagging of fruits and resulting fruit quality. The Chief Guest of the programme, Dr. Sanjay Singh, Director General, U.P. Council of Agriculture Research, appreciated the efforts made by the Institute in development of new varieties, new technologies and helping farmers to maintain guava productivity in the state. Director General also invited a mega project to extend the postharvest value addition technologies on guava with the involvement of startups for public health improvement. The guest of honour, Dr. Sanjiv Kumar, Deputy Director General, UPCAR appreciated the efforts made by the Institute in managing the guava decline disease and promised whole hearted support for research in this direction. Dr. P.L. Saroj, Head, Division of Crop Production elaborated overview of Guava Day programme and present scenario of guava cultivation in U.P. state. Dr. K.K. Srivastava, Principal Scientist (Horticulture) explained about canopy architecture management and bagging of fruits, and shared its advantages for the rainy season and winter crops of guava. He also talked about enhancement in yield, individual fruit weight and fruit quality. Dr. P.K. Shukla, Principal Scientist (Plant Pathology) explained about the integrated approach for the management of guava decline disease, which has been a major constraint in guava cultivation during the recent past. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Principal Scientist (Horticulture) explained about guava nutrition and Dr. A.K. Trivedi, Head, Division of Postharvest Management focused on safe harvesting, post harvest handling and value addition. more then 150 farmers and students participated in the programme and it ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Dinesh Kumar. Dr. Sanjay Singh, Director General, and Dr. Sanjiv Kumar, Deputy Director General, U.P. Council of Agriculture Research visited the guava technology development orchards and taken detailed information about the technologies.

भा.कृ.अनु.प.-केंद्रीय उपोष्ण बागवानी संस्थान, रहमानखेड़ा, लखनऊ द्वारा किसानों के बीच हाल ही में विकसित तकनीकों का प्रसार करने के लिए अमरूद दिवस मनाया। डॉ. देवेंद्र पांडेय, निदेशक, भाकृअनुप-केंद्रीय उपोष्ण बागवानी संस्थान, लखनऊ ने छत्र प्रबंधन, फलों की बैगिंग और परिणामी फलों की गुणवत्ता में हाल के विकास के बारे में जानकारी दी। कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि डॉ. संजय सिंह, महानिदेशक, उ.प्र. कृषि अनुसंधान परिषद ने नई किस्मों,नई प्रौद्योगिकियों के विकास और राज्य में अमरूद की उत्पादकता बनाए रखने के लिए किसानों की मदद करने के लिए संस्थान द्वारा किए गए प्रयासों की सराहना की। महानिदेशक महोदय ने सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य सुधार के लिए स्टार्टअप्स की भागीदारी के साथ अमरूद पर पोस्ट हार्वेस्ट वैल्यू एडिशन तकनीकों का विस्तार करने के लिए एक बड़ी परियोजना को भी आमंत्रित किया। सम्मानित अतिथि, डॉ. संजीव कुमार, उप महानिदेशक, उ.प्र. कृषि अनुसंधान परिषद ने अमरूद क्षय रोग के प्रबंधन में संस्थान द्वारा किए गए प्रयासों की सराहना की और इस दिशा में अनुसंधान के लिए पूरे दिल से समर्थन का वादा किया। डॉ. पी.एल. सरोज, प्रमुख, फसल उत्पादन विभाग ने अमरूद दिवस कार्यक्रम और उ.प्र. राज्य में अमरूद की खेती के वर्तमान परिदृश्य का विवरण दिया। डॉ. के.के. श्रीवास्तव, प्रधान वैज्ञानिक (बागवानी) ने छत्र प्रबंधन एवं फलों के बैगिंग के बारे में बताया तथा अमरूद की वर्षा ऋतु एवं शीत ऋतु की फसलों के लिए इसके लाभों को अलग-अलग बताया। उन्होंने उपज में वृद्धि, व्यक्तिगत फलों के वजन और फलों की गुणवत्ता के बारे में बात की। डॉ. पी.के. शुक्ल, प्रधान वैज्ञानिक (पादप रोग) ने अमरूद के क्षय रोग के प्रबंधन के लिए एकीकृत दृष्टिकोण के बारे में बताया, जो हाल के दिनों में अमरूद की खेती में एक बड़ी बाधा रही है। डॉ. दिनेश कुमार, प्रधान वैज्ञानिक (बागवानी) ने अमरूद के पोषण के बारे में बताया और डॉ. ए.के. त्रिवेदी, प्रमुख, पोस्टहार्वेस्ट प्रबंधन विभाग ने सुरक्षित तुड़ाई, पोस्ट हार्वेस्ट हैंडलिंग और मूल्यवर्धन के बारे में बताया। कार्यक्रम में 150 से अधिक किसानों और छात्रों ने भाग लिया और डॉ. दिनेश कुमार द्वारा धन्यवाद ज्ञापन के साथ इसका समापन हुआ। डॉ. संजय सिंह, महानिदेशक, और डॉ. संजीव कुमार, उप महानिदेशक, उ.प्र. कृषि अनुसंधान परिषद ने अमरूद के प्रौद्योगिकी विकास बागों का दौरा किया और प्रौद्योगिकियों के बारे में विस्तृत जानकारी ली।
