A group of 55 farmers including from 14 blocks of Saran district of Bihar visited the ICAR–CISH Lucknow on February 1 2023. During the visit farmers were apprised about Institutes developed technologies like improved varieties of mango, guava, bael, jamun, canopy management, high density planting of mango, rejuvenation of old and senile orchards, container gardening of fruits crops, espalier system of guava, protected cultivation technology of vegetables, training and pruning for crop regulation of guava, pre-harvest fruit bagging , drip irrigation, integrated management of insect & diseases of mango, intercropping in mango orchards for better land use and more income, crop diversification, maintaining of soil fertility, planting method for establishment of orchard. The importance of fruits and vegetable in human health was discussed in detailed with the farmers. This visit was sponsored by ATMA Saran district Bihar.
