A Group of 20 farmers and Horticulture officials from Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh visited the ICAR–CISH, Lucknow on February 24, 2023. Interaction with the farmers was held in the experimental orchards of the Institute. Farmers were made aware about the institute developed technologies. Adoption of early, Medium and late varieties of mango was suggested. Mango cultivars like Mallika, Amrapali were advocated to grow for more income. Management of mother blocks for establishment of nursery was discussed. Propagation methods in fruit crops were also discussed. On-field demonstration on Rejuvenation of unproductive orchards was done. Farmers were motivated for adoption of high density orcharding for enhancing productivity and profitability from per unit land. Intercropping of turmeric and other crops in the interspaces of mango orchards was also suggested for improving income. Protected cultivation of vegetables is highly remunerative and farmers were sensitized about it. Soil health management was discussed in detailed. Micronutrient management for quality fruit production was discussed. The importance of water conservation at critical fruit growth and developments was also explained. Hindi literature on scientific guava cultivation, disease managements and organic cultivation of subtropical fruits were distributed. Dr. Naresh Babu (Principal Scientist) and Dr. Tarun Adak (Senior Scientist) coordinated the visit.

भा. कृ.अनु. प.- केंद्रीय उपोष्ण बागवानी संस्थान, लखनऊ में हिमाचल प्रदेश के कांगड़ा जिले के किसानों का भ्रमण हिमाचल प्रदेश के कांगड़ा जिले के 20 किसानों और बागवानी अधिकारियों के एक समूह ने दिनांक 24 फरवरी, 2023 को केंद्रीय उपोष्ण बागवानी संस्थान, लखनऊ का भ्रमण किया। किसानों के साथ बातचीत संस्थान के प्रक्षेत्र में आयोजित की गई। किसानों को संस्थान के प्रौद्योगिकियों के बारे में जागरूक किया गया। आम की जल्द, सामान्य एवं देर से विकसित होने वाले किस्मों को अपनाने की जानकारी दी गई। मल्लिका, अम्रपाली जैसी आम की खेती को अधिक आय के लिए बढ़ाने का सुझाव दिया गया। साथ ही नर्सरी की स्थापना के लिए मदर ब्लॉक के प्रबंधन पर चर्चा की गई। फलों की फसलों में प्रसार के तरीकों पर भी चर्चा की गई। अनुत्पादक बागों के जीर्णोद्धार पर ऑन फील्ड प्रदर्शन किया गया। किसानों को प्रति इकाई भूमि से उत्पादकता और लाभप्रदता बढ़ाने के लिए सघन बागवानी को अपनाने के लिए प्रेरित किया गया। आम के बागों में हल्दी और अन्य फसलों के अंतर फसल द्वारा आय में सुधार के लिए भी सुझाव दिया गया। किसानों को सब्जियों की संरक्षित खेती और इससे होल वाले लाभ के बारे में जागरूक किया गया। मिट्टी के स्वास्थ्य प्रबंधन पर विस्तार से चर्चा की गई और गुणवत्ता युक्त फल उत्पादन के लिए सूक्ष्म-पोषक तत्वों के प्रबंधन पर भी चर्चा की गई। फलों में विकास के दौरान जल संरक्षण के महत्व को भी समझाया गया। किसानों को वैज्ञानिक विधि से अमरूद की खेती, रोग प्रबंधन और उपोष्ण फलों की जैविक खेती से सम्बंधित हिंदी साहित्य भी प्रदान किया गया। प्रधान वैज्ञानिक डॉ. नरेश बाबू एवं वरिष्ठ वैज्ञानिक डॉ. तरुण अदक ने किसानो के भ्रमण कार्यक्रम का समन्वय किया।
