An Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on Hydroponics Technology for High Value Crop Production was organized by the Hort-Ind Agri-Business Incubation Centre during 20th to 22nd January, 2025 at ICAR-Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow. The EDP was started with the introduction of the programme by Dr. Maneesh Mishra, PI, Hort-Ind ABIC. Director of the institute Dr. T. Damodaran spoke about the importance of the EDP and startups in developing country’s economy and motivated the participants to come forward with startup venture. Dr. S.R. Singh gave hands-on training on hydroponics technologies, design, types, nutrient solutions, deficiency symptoms, management of hydroponic crops, temperature, humidity and light, EC & pH regulation, high value crops suitable for hydroponics and its commercial production etc. A talk on Industrial Perspective for Commercial Hydroponics was also delivered by Mr. Abhishek Singh, Director, Root n Shoots Pvt. Ltd. A lecture on preparation of DPR and types of company registration was delivered by CA, Mr. Diwakar Singh. On last day of EDP participants visited to a commercial hydroponics farm of a company M/s Root n Shoots Pvt. Ltd. Mohanlalganj, Lucknow. Total 11 entrepreneurs including one women entrepreneur participated in the EDP.
