भा.कृ.अनु.प.-केन्द्रीय उपोष्ण बागवानी संस्थान द्वारा क्षेत्रीय स्टेशन मालदा, पश्चिम बंगाल में राष्ट्रीय बीज कारपोरेशन (एनएससी) पश्चिम बंगाल के सहयोग से 27-28 जुलाई, 2018 को सब्जी बीज उत्पादन पर एकीकृत बागवानी (एमआईडीएच) प्रायोजित कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया। इस पहल पर बात करते हुए, के.उ.बा.सं. के निदेशक शैलेंद्र राजन ने कहा कि राज्य सब्जी उत्पादन में पहले स्थान पर है तथा बंगाल राज्य में सब्जी बीज की बहुत खपत है। गुणवत्ता बीज उत्पादन में वृद्धि कर सकता है और इसे राज्य की किसानों द्वारा अपनी आय बढ़ाने के लिए एक उद्यम के रूप में भी लिया जा सकता है। के.उ.बा.सं.-मालदा किसानों के लिए प्रजनकों के बीज उपलब्ध कराने हेतु बीज उत्पादन को बढ़ावा देने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है। के.उ.बा.सं. किसानों के लाभ के लिए मालदा में बीज प्रसंस्करण संयंत्र की स्थापना कर रहा है। एनएससी के सहयोग से आयोजित कार्यक्रम, उत्पादकों से विपणन विशेषज्ञों तक मजबूत बीज श्रृंखला स्थापित करने में मदद करेगा। संस्थान बीज श्रृंखला को मजबूत करने के लिए गुणन हेतु नव विकसित किस्मों के ब्रीडर के बीज प्रदान कर रहा है। इस कार्यशाला में 250 आदिवासी किसानों ने भाग लिया एवं चर्चा की। एनएससी ने खेती के लिए प्रत्येक प्रतिभागी को बीज किट प्रदान की।

A Mission for Integrated Horticulture (MIDH) sponsored programme on vegetable seed production was organized on July 27-28, 2018 by CISH at its Regional Station Malda, West Bengal in collaboration with National Seed Carporation (NSC), West Bengal. Talking on this initiative, CISH director Shailendra Rajan said that the state ranks first in vegetable production and there is a lot of vegetable seed consumption in the state of Bengal. Quality seed production can increase the production and it can also be taken up as a venture by the state farmers for increasing their income. CISH-Malda is instrumental in promoting seed production through farmers by making breeders seed available to farmers. CISH is establishing seed processing plant at Malda for the benefit of farmers. This collaborative programme, will help in establishing strong seed chain from producers to marketing experts. The institute is providing breeder’s seed of newly developed varieties for multiplication for strengthening the seed chain. 250 Tribal farmers attended the workshop and participated in the discussions. NSC provided seed kits for distribution to each participant for cultivation in their field.
