भा.कृ.अनु.प.-केन्द्रीय उपोष्ण बागवानी संस्थान, लखनऊ की 07 सदस्यी वैज्ञानिकों, अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों की एक टीम ने लखनऊ के मलिहाबाद ब्लॉक के मोहम्मद-रहमतनगर स्थित प्राथमिक विद्यालय में आज दिनांक 28.10.2016 को स्वच्छता पखवाड़ा के अन्तर्गत सफाई अभियान चलाया। इस सफाई अभियान टीम का नेतृत्व डॉ. वी.के. सिंह, प्रधान वैज्ञानिक ने किया। स्वच्छता पखवाड़ा के आरम्भ में डॉ. वी.के. सिंह ने प्राथमिक विद्यालय में 75 विद्यार्थियों को स्वच्छता की शपथ दिलायी तथा उन्हें जीवन में स्वच्छता के महत्व पर जानकारी प्रदान की। डॉ. वी.के. सिंह ने इस अवसर पर संस्थान द्वारा चलाये जा रहे स्वच्छता कार्यक्रम की भी संक्षिप्त जानकारी भी दी। उन्होंने आगे बताया स्कूल के बच्चों में जागरुकता पैदा करने का मुख्य उददेश्य है कि बच्चे भी अपने-अपने घरों एवं आसपास के क्षेत्रों में जाकर अपने रिश्तेदारों एवं अन्य लोगों में स्वच्छता संबंधी जागरुकता पैदा करेंगे। स्वच्छता अभियान में विद्यार्थियों ने विशेष रुचि दिखायी। इस अवसर पर प्राथमिक विद्यालय की प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती नीतू गॉंधी सहित 05 अन्य शिक्षक भी उपस्थित थे। स्वच्छता कार्यक्रम के अन्त में संस्थान की ओर से डॉ. वी.के. सिंह ने विद्यालय को एक बड़ा कूड़ादान दिया गया ताकि भविष्य में स्कूल में बच्चे कूड़ा फेंकने के लिये इसका उपयोग करें। इस दौरान संस्थान की ओर से विद्यालय के प्रांगण में आम, अमरुद एवं बेल के पौधे भी लगाये गये।

A team of 07 members of the ICAR-Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow embodying scientists, officers and staff visited the Primary School of the Mohamadnagar-Rahmatnagar area of Malihabaad block of Lucknow to accomplish cleanliness drive and create awareness amongst the students and teachers under Swachhta Pakhwada on 28 th October, 2016. The team was led by Dr. V. K. Singh, Principal Scientist who gave an oath of Swachhta to students of the Primary School in the presence of its Principal, Smt. Netu Gandhi and 05 other teachers. On this occasion, Dr. Singh briefed the gathering about the importance of our swachh jeevan. Dr. V. K. Singh also apprised the teachers and students of the school about the activities being carried out under Swachhta Abhiyan by ICAR-CISH, Lucknow. In his remarks, he informed that the Swachhta Pakhwada is being accomplished to create awareness amongst the students so that the younger generation could generate more awareness about cleanliness in their own houses, schools as well as surrounding areas. The students of the school displayed keen interest in the cleanliness drive. A dustbin was handed over to the School Principal by Dr. V. K. Singh so that, in future, littering should stop and the garbage amassed could be thrown into it. The visiting team also planted three plants of mango, guava and bael in the school premises.
