उत्तर प्रदेश के शाहजहाँपुर जिले के 32 किसानों के एक समूह ने 17 जनवरी, 2024 को आईसीएआर-सीआईएसएच, लखनऊ का भ्रमण किया। वैज्ञानिक-किसान संवाद बैठक आयोजित की गई और किसानों को उपोष्णकटिबंधीय फल उत्पादन, संरक्षण और फसल के बाद मूल्य संवर्धन की प्रौद्योगिकियों का प्रसार किया गया। संस्थान के संग्रहालय में किसानों को विभिन्न उपोष्णकटिबंधीय फलों के उत्पादन के बारे में जागरूक किया गया। किसानों को पूसा रौनक टिंडा (डीआरएम-26), पूसा हाइब्रिड-4 करेला और कुफरी पुख राज आलू जैसी नई उच्च उपज वाली सब्जी किस्मों को उगाने के लिए प्रेरित किया गया। गुणवत्तापूर्ण उत्पादन के लिए फलों की फसलों में ड्रिप सिंचाई के माध्यम से नमी संरक्षण के महत्व को समझाया गया। किसानों को प्राकृतिक खेती के माध्यम से फल और जैविक सब्जियां उगाने के लिए भी प्रेरित किया गया। आईसीएआर-फ्यूसिकॉन्ट का उपयोग करके केले में फ्यूजेरियम विल्ट के प्रबंधन के महत्व पर चर्चा की गई। किसानों के बीच नमी संरक्षण और फलों और सब्जियों से संबंधित अन्य जानकारी पर हिंदी साहित्य भी वितरित किया गया। क्षेत्र भ्रमण के दौरान, संस्थान द्वारा आम और अमरूद के बागों में विकसित प्रौद्योगिकियों का प्रदर्शन किया गया। डॉ. नरेश बाबू (प्रधान वैज्ञानिक) एवं डॉ. तरूण अदक (वरिष्ठ वैज्ञानिक) ने किसानों से बातचीत की और भ्रमण का समन्वय किया।

A group of 32 farmers from Shahjahanpur district, Uttar Pradesh visited ICAR-CISH, Lucknow on January 17, 2024. Scientist-Farmers interaction meeting was organized and technologies of subtropical fruit production, protection and post harvest value addition were disseminated to farmers. Farmers were sensitized about different subtropical fruit production technologies in the institute museum. Farmers were motivated to grow newly released high yielding vegetable varieties like Pusa Raunak Tinda (DRM-26), Pusa Hybrid-4 bitter gourd and Kufri Pukh Raj Potato. Importance of moisture conservation through drip irrigation in fruit crops for quality production was explained. Farmers were motivated to grow fruits through natural farming and organic vegetables also. Importance of management of Fusarium wilt in Banana using ICAR-Fusicont was discussed. Hindi literatures on moisture conservation and other information related to fruits and vegetables were also distributed to farmers. During field visits, institute technologies in mango and guava orchards were demonstrated. Dr. Naresh Babu (Principal Scientist) and Dr. Tarun Adak (Senior Scientist) interacted with the farmers and co-ordinated the visit.
