सरकारी बालिका इंटर कॉलेज, मलिहाबाद, लखनऊ की 20 छात्राओं ने प्राचार्या श्रीमती कमलेश सोनकर के नेतृत्व में 8 दिसंबर, 2017 को शैक्षिक भ्रमण के रुप में भा.कृ.अनु.प.-केन्द्रीय उपोष्ण बागवानी संस्थान, लखनऊ का भ्रमण किया। छात्रों के शैक्षणिक दौरे के लिए जिला परियोजना कार्यालय के निर्देश को ध्यान में रखते हुए छात्राओं के लिये यह एक शैक्षणिक भ्रमण था। इस अवसर पर छात्राओं को संबोधित करते हुए डॉ. शैलेंद्र राजन, निदेशक, आईसीएआर-सीआईएसएच, लखनऊ ने संस्थान के जीन बैंक प्रक्षेत्र में उपलब्ध आम की भारतीय एवं विदेशी किस्मों के बारे में जानकारी दी। उनसे आम की किस्मों और मलिहाबाद के महत्व के बारे में चर्चा की। आम, अमरूद, बेल, लीची, जामुन, आदि प्रायोगिक पौधों को देखकर छात्राएं और शिक्षिकाएं लाभान्वित हुए। बच्चों को बतायी गयी प्रौद्योगिकियों को अपने-अपने क्षेत्रों में प्रयोग में लाने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया गया।

Twenty students of standard IX of Government Girls Inter College, Malihabad, Lucknow led by Smt. Kamlesh Sonkar, Principal visited ICAR-Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, Rehmankhera, Lucknow as a part of their educational tour on 8th December, 2017. The educational tour of the students was a result of the directive of the District Project Office to visit six research Institutes for the betterment of the students’ knowledge. In course of their visit, the students were addressed by Dr. Shailendra Rajan, Director, ICAR-CISH, Lucknow. Students visited large collection of Indian as well as exotic mango varieties available in the Institute’s field gene bank. As the students were from the nearby areas, he asked them about mangoes and the importance of Malihabad in relation to mangoes. The students as well as teachers were extremely happy to see mango, guava, bael, litchi, guava, jamun, etc. experimental plants. Dr. Rajan also dealt with the significance of local and Malihabadi mango varieties. He further suggested children to take the knowledge to their areas and apply them in their respective farm fields.
