Collaboration

In view of developing strong base in fundamental research and pursue the human resource and capacity building programme, institute has developed functional collaboration with SAUs and traditional universities. Currently the Institute has in place MoUs with Amity University, Lucknow and Integral University, Lucknow for pursuing research as part of M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees of their students. Institute is also recognized by IGNOU, New Delhi as one of the study centres for offering one year Diploma on value added products from fruits and vegetables and a certificate course on organic farming. Programmes of the students for their dissertation/thesis were aligned with the ongoing projects of the Institute in biotechnology, crop improvement, crop protection, crop health management and post harvest management.

LINKAGES

Institute has linkages with various National and International organizations such as DAC-NCPAH, Ministry of Agriculture, DBT, DST, PPV & FRA, UPCST, UPCAR, AMAAS, Sultanate of Oman and UNEP/GEF. There is regular interaction with different Krishi Vigyan Kendras for hand holding with respect to subtropical fruits issues. National Horticulture Mission has identified the institute as nodal centre for imparting training on rejuvenation of and unproductive mango orchards and meadow orcharding in guava. In the CISH website, under media resource file, ‘Farmers advisory’ is being generated in order to address the contextual problems. A facility of ‘Phone-in-live program’ at the Rehmankhera campus has been put in place through which the growers queries on subtropical fruits are addressed by the SMS of the institute on every Friday from 10.30 am to 4.00 pm through a dedicated phone line 0522-2841082. The institute also participates in Kisan melas, exhibitions showcasing the technologies developed by it within and outside Uttar Pradesh for outreaching the clients in addition to organizing kisan goshthies in mango belt of the state. Besides frequent interactions with the press and electronic media through ‘Media Meet’, press releases, radio/television talks on thematic issues are also undertaken.
