Characters
- CISH B-3 variety of bael was developed through the seedling selection of breeding and is a mid maturing variety.
- The variety was maintained with 36 accessions in field gene bank.
- Average fruit weight was recorded 1.15 kg with about 65.64 kg of fruit per tree (5-year-old tree).
- It has thin shell, nearly thorn less variety, pulp is dark yellow colour with pleasant flavour and less mucilage content.
- On an average 81.50 number of seeds were recorded per fruit with average seed weight being 11.15 g.
- Fruit is also having good quality attributes viz. TSS content (38.04°B), acidity (0.44%), total sugars (17.49 %) and has 86.19 % of pulp content.
- This variety is claimed to be tolerant to frost as well as fruit cracking.
